Extra Shift Premium. 14 A. A nurse will be paid a premium of nineteen dollars ($19.00) per hour 15 for all hours worked in excess of the number of the nurse's regularly 16 scheduled hours for the week, when such excess hours result from the 17 nurse's working hours on an extra shift(s) of at least four (4) hours each in 18 duration, (three and 0.5 (3.50) hours if following the completion of the nurse’s 19 regular shift) at the request of the Medical Center. Per diem nurses are 20 eligible for the extra shift premium for shifts picked up during the same work 21 week in which they have already worked thirty-six (36) hours. Employees 22 may split a shift as long as the total shift is covered. The following regularly 23 scheduled hours not worked will also be counted for "hours worked" in the 24 week.
26 1. Hours because of stay home time whether at the request of the 27 Medical Center or nurse.
29 2. Hours placed on call at the request of the Medical Center or 30 nurse due to low census.
32 3. Any time taken as paid time off including but not limited to EIB, 33 PTO, jury duty, bereavement, paid educational days, or mandatory in- 1 service meetings.
3 4. In determining eligibility for this premium, "hours worked" will 4 not include working as a result of trades.
6 B. Each nurse shall receive a confirmation when a shift is granted.
8 C. If extra shift hours qualify for overtime, the extra shift hours will be 9 compensated at the applicable overtime rate, according to applicable federal 10 wage and hour laws.
12 D. A nurse who is placed on standby call while working on a shift that 13 qualifies for the extra shift premium will be paid the applicable call-back rate 14 as well as the extra shift premium for all hours worked on the extra shift as a 15 result of a call-back.
Extra Shift Premium. When, at the request of the Department, an employee works a shift during a day where he or she is not scheduled to work, and the employee has taken paid leave during the same week, that employee shall be eligible to be paid a premium rate of time and a half for time worked on the extra shift even if that employee has not worked over 40 hours in the workweek.
Extra Shift Premium. Employees who volunteer to work Employer designated shifts shall receive an Extra Shift Premium six dollars and fifty cents ($6.50) per hour added to their base rate of pay for actual hours worked during the designated shift. An extra shift shall be defined as an employer designated shift that includes work time beyond a Bargaining Unit Employee’s regularly scheduled shift. This does not include shift trades between Employees. The employee will need to complete a written extra shift premium form made available by the Employer. Shifts that qualify for the Extra Shift Premium shall be clearly posted and marked as such. Employer may cancel the bonus shift designation within five (5) calendar days of the scheduled shift if the Employer is able to hire or schedule additional staff to work the shift at a rate lower than what would be paid through the application of an extra shift premium. In order to qualify for the extra shift premium the employee must work her/his next scheduled shift, unless the employee is unable to work due to an excused absence as defined by the Attendance and Punctuality Policy (Appendix D) or was called off by the Employer. Any extra shift premium must be offered to Bargaining unit members first prior to being offered to other employees or agency or Prestige pool employees.

Nurses may split a shift as long as the total shift is covered. The following regularly scheduled hours not worked will also be counted for "hours worked" in the week:

Extra Shift Premium. 2 Any nurse who commits to extra shifts beyond the nurse's normal 3 FTE commitment will receive a premium of $2015.00 per hour for 4 extra shifts committed and approved beyond the nurse’s FTE, 5 provided the nurse works all scheduled shifts during the same 6 workweek, or is placed on low census HCD by management due to 7 low census. 9 If a regular nurse's FTE status is reduced or a regular nurse 10 changes to per diemcasual status, the extra shift differential will be 11 payable to the nurse only for extra shifts worked after the 12 completion of 13 full pay periods following the nurse's FTE 13 reduction or change in status. 15 It is recognized that the Hospital will schedule such extra shifts 16 based on management's assessment of patient acuity, available 17 nursing skills, cost of services and seniority in the same manner 18 that low census and HCD are is rotated under Section A of Article
Extra Shift Premium. Full time and part time nurses who agree to work previously 30 unscheduled hours shall be paid their time-and-one-half rate for all extra hours worked, regardless 31 of the total number of hours worked in the work week or workday. The hospital may offer a nurse 1 an additional $10.00 per hour for all extra hours worked to encourage nurses to work hours/shifts 2 that are more difficult to fill. Casual nurses who agree to work previously unscheduled hours, with 3 less than seventy-two hours notice shall be paid one-and-one-half times the nurse’s applicable rate 4 of pay for all extra hours worked, regardless of the total number of hours worked in the work week 5 or work day. All extra shifts shall be so designated on the posted schedule. 1 APPENDIX B – ALTERNATIVE SHIFT SCHEDULES
3 1. This agreement shall cover nurses regularly assigned to twelve (12) hour shifts or ten (10) 4 hour shifts. Where otherwise mutually agreeable to the Hospital and a 2/3 majority of the affected 5 nurses on a nursing unit, a nurse may be scheduled for twelve (12), ten (10), or eight (8) hour shifts, 6 or some combination of such shifts, under the following conditions.
8 2. All other terms and conditions of the master Collective Bargaining Agreement shall apply 9 to affected nurses unless explicitly amended by this agreement.
11 3. This agreement shall remain in effect until amended or terminated by the following proce- 12 dure: 13
14 a. Should either administration or a two-thirds (2/3) majority of the affected nurses voting 15 by secret ballot wish to terminate this agreement, then the moving party shall give notice to 16 the other at least sixty (60) days prior to its intent to terminate or modify this agreement.
18 b. The parties shall meet at least once in order to attempt to negotiate the terms of a succes- 19 sor agreement. If no agreement is reached, then the status quo shall remain in place unless
(1) administration notifies ONA that the agreement is terminated at the end of the notice pe- 21 riod, or (2) at least two-thirds (2/3) of the affected nurses vote by secret ballot to terminate 22 this agreement at the end of the notice period.
24 4. A nurse covered by this agreement shall be considered full-time if he or she regularly works 25 or is regularly scheduled to work 72 hours over a two (2) week period. Benefits for a part-time 26 nurse covered by this agreement shall be prorated by the percentage of regularly scheduled hours to 27 the full-time equivalent of 72 hours...
Extra Shift Premium. 2 1. A nurse will be paid a premium of $13.00 per hour for all hours 3 worked in excess of the number of the nurse's regularly scheduled hours for the 4 week, when such excess hours result from the nurse's working hours on an extra 5 shift(s) of at least four (4) hours each in duration, (three and ½ hours if following 6 the completion of the nurse’s regular shift) at the request of the Medical Center.
Extra Shift Premium. The hospital will pay an extra shift premium of $150.00 to each full time bargaining unit employee who works an additional shift beyond their regular scheduled shifts in a pay period. For part time and per diem staff such extra shift premium would be paid if the part time or per diem employee had already worked the equivalent of full time hours in the pay period.
a. Employees who are being paid “on call” or “call-back” are not eligible for the extra shift premium when called back during on call status.
b. For part time and per diem employees, any unscheduled absence, in the same pay period the extra shift is worked, will disqualify the employee from the incentive premium. If an employee is called off during his/her extra shift, they will receive a pro-rated extra shift premium based upon actual number of hours worked on the shift.
Extra Shift Premium i. Subject to the following conditions, the Hospital will pay an Extra Shift Premium (ESP) to full-time and part-time employees who work a full or partial shift on their scheduled day off, either to cover another employee’s unscheduled absence or due to an increased staffing need as determined by the Hospital. Such a shift shall be referred to as an “ESP-eligible shift.” Position Extra Shift Premium CNA $4.17/hour Monitor Techs $4.17/hour LPN/LVN $6.25/hour Respiratory Care Practitioner $8.34/hour
ii. To receive an ESP, the full-time or part-time employee working the extra shift:
(a) Must work a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours in each week of the pay period during which the ESP-eligible shift is worked; and
(b) Must not call off of a scheduled or extra shift during the same pay period in which the ESP-eligible shift is worked.
iii. The Hospital, in its sole discretion, may discontinue the ESP program under this Agreement, with thirty (30) days’ written notice to the Union. The Hospital may then restart the ESP program, with seven (7) days’ written notice to the Union, or a shorter period of time if agreed to by the Union.
Extra Shift Premium. 13 Extra Shift Premiums will be paid to FT and PT techs who work extra shifts 14 beyond their regular hired full-time equivalent (FTE) status. They will receive five 15 dollars ($5.00) per hour added to their base rate for all straight time hours worked 16 in an extra shift. Open shifts will be posted with the final schedule for review. One
(1) week after the posting of the final schedule, any shifts still open remains 18 posted for all hospital staff and outside staffing sources. Extra shifts are awarded 19 on a first-come first-serve basis. Techs are expected to work their routine 20 scheduled shifts within the pay period. Extra shifts will revert to routine shifts for 21 unscheduled time off during the pay period. For example, a sick day will convert 22 from an over-time (OT)/Extra shift day in the same period to regular rates, unless 23 the sick day is protected leave or Oregon Paid Sick Leave. A prescheduled 24 vacation and/or census time off will not cause a loss of extra shift. Extra shifts do 25 not apply for last-minute trades between staff. Managers and supervisors may 26 assign extra shift status for short notice vacancies (I.E. High census or 27 unexpected sick calls).
